FOLEY, Ala. - Twenty-seven students from Gulf Shores High School toured Malouf Furniture and Design's showroom as part of their "housing" curriculum. Mimi Geoke, teacher of the high school class, invited Malouf Furniture and Design's designer, Lauren Beckett, to sit on a select committee that will oversee the direction of the new course. As chairperson, Lauren will ensure students are being taught the most up to date information in the design field.

"Having the students tour the store was exciting because it gave me an opportunity to offer them more in depth information. I was happy to see they were interested in the discussion and were participating by asking questions. I am honored to be a part of this committee and look forward to working on this course's curriculum in the future", said Lauren.

FOLEY, Ala. - Malouf Furniture and Design won Best in Show during the annual Christmas in the Park Tree Decorating Contest. The events kicked off on Thursday, November 30th with the decorating of the trees. Judging was held Friday afternoon, and Malouf Furniture and Design was recognized at an award ceremony Friday evening. The trees will continue to be on display through the holidays.

This year's theme- "Life is a Gift: a dedication to the survivors of breast cancer" was portrayed with decorations of pink, silver and white. Large ball ornaments featured names of survivors from the community, and pink ribbons completed the look. "We were happy to be a part of Christmas in the Park and to sponsor a cause that has touched so many in our community," said Melody Riddle, a designer at Malouf Furniture and Design.

POINT CLEAR, Ala. - Malouf Furniture and Design's tent won first place at the Polo at the Point match in Point Clear, AL. Visitors of the Malouf tent kicked back and relaxed in style while enjoying the polo matches from the sideline. Various styles of sofas, chairs, occasional tables and bookshelves were strategically placed to create a more enjoyable atmosphere. An Asian themed tent partnered with catering by the Wash House made the day complete.

The event was held all day Sunday. The match is unique to this area, and guests enjoy spending a day out in the open air socializing with friends. "Polo at the Point has always been a great opportunity for us to come out and display some of the great things Malouf Furniture has to offer. We are so proud to have been a part of the polo festivities this year," said floor display manager Michelle Brown.

FOLEY, Ala. - Malouf Furniture and Design held their annual Tent and Warehouse Sale Friday, November 24th through Sunday, November 26th. Many eager shoppers were waiting at the door Friday morning to kick off the sale. Once inside, they enjoyed complimentary coffee and cookies.

"Sale weekends are always fun because there is so much excitement in the store. We have a tent out front filled with sale items, and the warehouse is also open to the public. There is constant movement because we are continually replenishing both with sofas, chairs, tables, and accessories throughout the weekend. It is good to see so many people come back every day of the sale to see what else we have brought in," said Melanie LeBerte, Malouf's Marketing and Sales Assistant.

FOLEY, Ala. - Malouf Furniture and Design held their annual Labor Day Sales Event over Labor Day weekend with a great turnout. The event was held all weekend starting with an invitation-only preview sale on Thursday evening and lasting through Monday afternoon.

"When we have these sales, we put a huge tent in the front with all sorts of great bargains, We open up our warehouse and have more bargains in the back. We've developed such a reputation for these sales that we have people calling the store for details before we even advertise it.", said Julie Jeter, Malouf Furniture Marketing Director.

Gardner Malouf, Owner, even participated by cooking hamburgers and hotdogs for his employees on Labor Day, "I felt like if I was going to ask them to be away from their families, the least I could do is cook for them."

"We had just received this great looking, high quality furniture that is truly unique. I wanted to display it in the atmosphere that inspired its design so we painted the walls and piped in very intriguing music. It's about the whole experience."
